Marco Abruzzi, FCIArb
Marco Abruzzi is an experienced mediator and arbitrator who is passionate about helping parties navigate and resolve their disputes with clarity, fairness, and efficiency. His ADR practice is based in Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver.
With training from Harvard Law in mediation as well as Oxford University and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in arbitration, Marco brings a well-rounded and thoughtful approach to conflict resolution.
He has over 15 years of experience as a lawyer and arbitration counsel leading complex legal cases and trials as well as institutional and ad hoc tribunals for business, family, shareholder, energy, resource extraction, technology, First Nations, family, estates and workplace disputes.
Prior to private practice for a boutique law firm in Vancouver, Marco worked as Crown Counsel with the Department of Justice Canada working in the Business & Regulatory Law, Aboriginal Law and National Security sections and as a Legal Advisor to the Department of Fisheries and Oceans.
Marco is routinely called upon to resolve a variety of disputes. In 2025 Marco led a significant number of mediations and arbitrations spanning various sectors including a substantial business valuation dispute, a contentious dispute between a mining company and an indigenous group, an extensive mediation between a municipality and multiple employee departments, a significant contractual dispute between an energy company and a long-term supplier, along with a number of smaller workplace, business, family, estate and corporate shareholder matters.
