Arbitration Experience: Derry Millar is a skilled and dedicated advocate with a broad civil litigation and administrative law practice who brings his skills in dispute resolution and as an advocate to his work as an arbitrator and mediator. Derry is a panel member of ADR Chambers and the British Colombia International Commercial Arbitration Centre. Derry had conducted a variety of arbitrations and mediations in commercial matters. He has acted as an arbitrator in domain name disputes for CIRA. As a Bencher of the Law Society of Upper Canada, Derry has been the chair or a panel member on many discipline matters. Derry acted as the chair of Boards of Inquiry established under the Metropolitan Toronto Police Force Complaints Act, 1984 and the Police Services Act from 1985 to July 1996 to hear complaints against police officers. Derry has appeared in all levels of Courts in Ontario, the Supreme Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Canada and the Supreme Court of British Columbia and before administrative tribunals. Derry was lead commission counsel on the Ipperwash Inquiry. Derry was a Bencher of the Law Society from 1995 to June 2008 and Treasurer from June 2008 to June 2010.
