Arbitration Experience
Alison’s practice focuses on international arbitration and international trade and investment. She has experience advising and representing clients in ad hoc arbitrations and arbitrations administered under the auspices of major arbitral institutions, including the ICC, ICSID and the LCIA. Alison also served as Tribunal Secretary in more than a dozen high profile international arbitrations. In the course of this work Alison has garnered extensive dispute resolution expertise in a number of industry sectors, such as upstream oil and gas, construction, mining, natural resources, defence procurement, film distribution, software licensing. She has extensive experience addressing and advising on complex issues arising in arbitrations, including without limitation parallel claims/proceedings, emergency/interim relief, and document production/privilege issues. Alison has been named three years in a row by Who’s Who Legal as a Future Leader in Arbitration, and is regularly called upon to write and speak on topics in international arbitration and international law. She is co-author of the Canada chapter on sovereign immunity in Getting the Deal Through 2018 and 2019.
